Guidance Recommendations
The Ministry of Health's Drug Advisory Committee has recommended:
Nivolumab 40 mg/4 mL, 100 mg/10 mL and 240 mg/24 mL concentrate for solution for infusion in combination with ipilimumab 50 mg/10 mL injection concentrate, for untreated mismatch repair deficient or microsatellite instability-high unresectable or metastatic colorectal cancer.
The decision was based on the acceptable clinical effectiveness and pricing proposal by the company.
Funding status
Nivolumab 40 mg/4 mL, 100 mg/10 mL and 240 mg/24 mL concentrate for solution for infusion, and ipilimumab 50 mg/10 mL injection concentrate are recommended for inclusion on the Medication Assistance Fund (MAF) for the abovementioned indication from 1 December 2026.
Clinical indication, subsidy class and MediShield Life claims eligibility for nivolumab and ipilimumab are provided in the Annex.
