Guidance Recommendations
The Ministry of Health’s Drug Advisory Committee has recommended:
Selpercatinib 40 mg and 80 mg capsules and tablets as monotherapy for:
patients 12 years of age and older with advanced or metastatic medullary thyroid cancer with a rearranged during transfection (RET) mutation who require systemic therapy; and
patients 12 years of age and older with advanced or metastatic thyroid cancer with a RET gene fusion who require systemic therapy and who are radioactive iodine-refractory (if radioactive iodine is appropriate).
in view of clinical need, and acceptable clinical effectiveness, safety, and pricing proposal by the company.
Funding status
Selpercatinib 40 mg and 80 mg capsules and tablets are recommended for inclusion on the Medication Assistance Fund (MAF) for the abovementioned indications from 1 September 2026.
